Pogge a Duck

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired goaltender Justin Pogge from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a conditional selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

In other news, how easy is it to make fun of the Toronto Maple Leafs? When they had Pogge and Rask, it seemed to me like they had finally gotten it right. Even if one of the goalies turned out to be supported by an excellent team (Pogge), then the odds were pretty good that the other one would turn out just fine.

I remember when I walked into my house after Rask was traded for Raycroft (I lived with Leafs fans) and they were so happy. I couldn't imagine how they were happy with the trade and they justified it by saying that they already had a blue-chip prospect in Justin Pogge.

Now Rask is ready to back up Tim Thomas in Boston and Justin Pogge wasn't even a quality starter in the AHL.

Even though my hockey team isn't great, at least they're not the Leafs.
